What sort of duvet do you need?

You can make your bedroom a haven of comfort by choosing your bedding with care. The type of duvet you choose and whether you use a mattress topper or pillow protector (which we will discuss later) can make all the difference to the quality of your sleep.

We offer a range of natural and synthetic duvet fillings; from feather and down to silk, cotton and synthetic microfibre.

What style of pillow should you choose?

Sleeping on a tough, hard pillow isn't the most relaxing of things, however it is important to consider your individual needs and sleeping preferences. At Next, our aim is to provide you with a pillow which supports both your head and neck, whilst keeping you comfortable. Like duvets, pillows come in natural and synthetic forms.

Natural pillows

Usually made of feather and down, which is high in quality. These are a great option if you want your pillow to fit snugly or if you are looking for a firm, yet soft feel. These types of pillows also mould snugly around your head and shoulders.

Synthetic pillows

These are good if you suffer with allergies, fancy fresh, breathable comfort or want a memory foam filling. Manmade fibres also tend to be lower priced than natural fillings.

Consider your sleep style. Ask yourself: 'How do I sleep?' A pillow that is too firm or too soft can affect your posture. Remember to consider the pillow against your mattress; firm pillows don't tend to work well with a soft mattress.

Feather & down (available in duck or goose):

We only use 100% new feathers and down in our products so they last even longer. Both styles are thermally efficient and trap air for a long time so you keep warmer for longer. Goose down clusters are bigger than duck clusters so they are loftier and more luxurious

Pillows: Moulds to the shape of your head for comfort.

*It is worth noting that all our pillow ranges are available in soft, medium and firm support; perfect for front, back and side sleepers.

Tog rating guide

A duvets tog rating is important as it relates to the duvets warmth. The higher the tog rating, the warmer the duvet. We're here to explain all:

How to look after your bedding

We spend a lot of hours sleeping, which means most of our time is spent lying under our duvets and on top of our pillows, so it's important to take care of them. Take a look at our handy tips for caring for your bedding:

RH white

•  Plump up all your pillows daily.
•  Synthetic duvets and pillows can usually be machine washed, however we advise that you check the care label.
•  When the weather’s dry, hang out your synthetic duvets and pillows to air them.
•  When washing your bedding, it’s advised that you use a small amount of detergent.
•  To avoid any tears of the filling, we recommend placing your pillows inside a pillowcase when washing.

Now that you have all the knowledge that comes with purchasing your duvets and pillows, get ready set to settle down for the night in cosy, quality bedding. From choosing what type of duvet and pillow you need to learning about all the different ranges we stock here at Next, this helpful guide has all the answers.
